September means Springtime, and when you think of Spring you often think of; the mornings getting warmer, the evenings getting longer, and the birds coming out to sing when the clouds finally part ways for the sun to come through. This is the Earth’s way of letting us know that Summer is just around the corner…

And to celebrate these warmer months ahead, we often plan on spending plenty of time outdoors and enjoying what the Summer weather brings, this means lots of time spent with family and friends out on the patio, barbecuing and enjoying each other’s company. So, want to know how you can prepare your outdoor area for the warmer weather? Well why not consider installing a good quality set of outdoor blinds/awnings?

Outdoor blinds and awnings are affordable options that ensure your outdoor area is ready for the Summertime; they protect your home and your family from the elements of the outside such as the sun’s UV rays, wind and also rain, while still looking stylish and being a nice little accessory to your home’s aesthetic.

Worried the kids are going to get sunburnt? Don’t stress, outdoor blinds and awnings provide shelter from the sun so your kids can play for as long as they want on the patio without the risk of getting severely burnt.

Hate the heat but don't have an outdoor fan/AC installed? Not to worry, by blocking a direct stream of sunlight from the patio, it will keep the space cooler and more comfortable so you don't have to worry about installing an expensive AC unit or opening up the doors to let the cool air out.

And if you decide you want to let some sunlight shine onto the patio area, a set of retractable awnings will allow you to do this whenever you please. We can help you find the perfect set of outdoor blinds/awnings that are going to suit your lifestyle and needs, while still looking amazing and ensuring your patio area is prepared for each season of the year!

Over or Under?

Over or Under? Much like the toilet roll debate, a common question we get asked is ‘Should our blind have an under roll or an over roll?’ Here is what you need to consider….

Over or Under? Much like the toilet roll debate, a common question we get asked is ‘Should our blind have an under roll or an over roll?’

You may think you may be able to easily change your blind set up, however the way your blind rolls comes down to how the blind is initially assembled.

Blind assembly explained:
The fabric of your blind is attached to an inner tube and is either forward rolled over the tube, or reverse rolled under the tube. The mechanisms are then attached to either side of the tube with specific roll direction, with a specific chain side, and is then installed to follow how it was made.

Under or Reverse Roll
This method allows the fabric to hang closer to your window which means you will benefit from effective light covering, privacy and heat reflection due to its flush fitting.

Over or Forward Roll
The fabric will hide the roll, looking neater with a pelmet effect. The main benefit being that the blind will sit away from the window which is useful if you have objects such as handles in the way.

As your window furnishing experts we encourage you to consider everything from not just your privacy and lighting needs but also your room layout, design preference, and insulation needs.
